Greenscape was asked create a new Forest School Area at a School in Hethersett Norwich, Norfolk
I was approached by the school in Hethersett and asked to create an area suitable for Forest School and outdoor learning to take place. The existing area consisted of a large pond with areas of dense scrub around the outside.
Phase one involved our tree surgery team. Clearing paths for access and clearing a wider area to be used for seating. The were a number of large dead trees which had to be made safe included fallen trees in the water. These were dismantled by our arborist following a check for bat roosts. The remaining canopy was cleared dangerous branches and deadwood, the material which was generated by the tree surgery team was re used within the site. Brash was stacked to create a barrier on one of the boundaries and the log wood cut to size for the seating area. Longer timbers were used for path edgings. Vegetation was also cleared back from the edges of the pond to increase lightlevels
Phase two saw our landscaping team create the pathways and level out a suitable seating area with the use of an excavator.
Phase three was to carry out a litter pick of the area. Years of neglect had resulted in a large build up rubbish. Our team safely collected litter from the water from our Canadian canoe.
